When Portuguese settlers arrived in 1531, the native population that existed was relatively small and decentralized compared with other indigenous empires on the continent. They were quickly reduced to slavery in the sugar plantations but soon replaced by Africans. Today, their small surviving populations live mainly hidden inside thick jungles of Brazil, but their influence in art and abundance of crafts complexes are inevitable, especially inside. The history of Brazil, the interior is also embroiled affected by African slaves who fled the coastal plantations and built secret settlements. Quilombo dos Palmares was the most impressive of these settlements, with a peak population of 30,000 inhabitants and more than 200 buildings, the city has functioned independently for nearly a century until a bloody battle against the Portuguese erupted in 1694.

Eco-Sensations
Brazil expansive terrain is endless natural wonders. Nearly forty per cent of the world’s tropical forests remaining part of the Amazon tropical forests of Brazil and the Atlantic Ocean, home to over 2.5 million species of insects and species, fifth birds in the world! The notorious carnivorous piranha persists in many quantities in the waters of the Amazon, with the fascinating Boto, the largest species of river dolphins. The mysterious Anaconda snake also lurks in the basin of the river, but fear not, are generally harmless to humans. On the border of Argentina, Iguaçu Falls embodies the extent of the beauty of Brazil with more than 275 different waterfalls merging into a single harmonic tone Rush with a large number of scenic walks along the cliffs and lush cascade estuaries. Another aquatic phenomenon occurs 10 km upstream of the city of Manaus where the dark waters of Negro River join the yellowish Solimões river without fusion for a few kilometers. This two-color flow is the beginning of the Amazon.

Carnival, and that’s not all
Although some argue that the celebration of Carnival is the best time to visit the bustling city of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, this pulsing metropolis is booming with life all year round. The density of population has unrelenting entertainment while the beautiful beaches tend to be the final draw. The urban centers of Sao Paulo and Brasilia, the official capital, also teeming with nightlife, activities and history. I remember that when you travel to Brazil that urban areas of the South, experience a (very) mild winter during the months from June to August and the peak of summer is in January. North-tropical regions, are always warm all year.
